The Cincinnati Reds were looking to go 2-0 since 2005 today. But one guy would have to help them do that. That would be Travis Wood. The Reds and Wood won, 4-2. Here's what happened......
Travis Wood, (as I said in Paragraph 1), was on the hill today. He went 7 innings, gave up 4 hits and struck out 7. He went to 1-0, the only Reds started yet to get a win.
So let's start in the first when Drew Stubbs lead off on a walk, stole a base, but then tried to steal 3rd but was caught stealing and was tagged ou at 3rd. Brandon Phillips then stuck out swinging.
But, the 2010 NL MVP singled up the middle for veteran 3rd baseman Scott Rolen, who would then hit a 2 run jack into left field and the Reds lead it 2-0.
The Next inning, Ryan Hanigan would get to 2nd on a Sac Bunt by Travis Wood, next batter was Drew Stubbs who would Triple and another run would score for the Reds, as they now led 3-0.
Joey Votto would come up to the plate in the same inning, and would look like a easy ground out, Rickie Weeks fiddled with the ball and had a bad throw to first scoring Stubbs and Votto safe at 1st base. 4-0 Reds.
But, that would be all the runs scored for the Queen City Kings. The Brewers got 2 runs of their own with a Solo home run by Almonte and then in the 9th on a RBI single by Casey McGehee to score Ryan Braun.
The Reds are now leading a top of the NL Central by their selves. The Reds will face Randy Wolf tomorrow, and Bronson Arroyo will pitch for the Reds. Game time is set for 10:10 AM PT.
