Reds End Losing Streak, Avoid Sweep, 7-4.

The Reds were in a huge slump. They were looking to not get sweept today.

They did, winning 7-4, Here's what happened.....

Mike Leake was on the hill for the Reds, he went 7 innings, gave up 4 hits, and struck out 6.

The D-Backs scored first with a Stephen Drew Single and the Reds trailed 1-0 for the 3rd straight time in this series, and the last 5 games.

But the Reds got on the board when Jay Bruce was walked which walked in Brandon Phillips. Then, Miguel Cairo would single to score 2010 NL MVP Joey Votto and Home run leader this season for the Reds, Jonny Gomes. Paul Janish was then walked, scoring Jay Bruce and the Reds go out of the 1st inning with the lead, 4-1.

The D-backs got a run in the 2nd with a Sacrificed ground out to score Juan Miranda 4-2 now still Reds.

Kelly Johnson hit a solo Home Run in the 5th to get it to a 1 run game, but the Cincinnati Reds, are never done.

In the Reds bottom half of the 5th, Joey Votto hit a solo home run and the Reds now led 5-3. The Reds scored 2 runs in the 6th with a Ramon Hernandez double to score Cairo, then Paul Janish had an RBI Single scoring Hernandez.

Despite a solo Jack by Stephen Drew in the 9th, the Reds won 7-4. The Reds will kick off a 3 game series in St.Louis vs. the Cardinals. GO REDS!
