The Cincinnati Reds were looking to win the series today vs. the Brewers. With some very powerful hitting, the Reds grinded out 15 hits to lead to a extra inning 7-6 win. Here's what happened.....
Sam LeCure was on the hill for the Reds, who didn't last long, going 4.1 innings.
The Reds scored 4 runs in the 1st, starting with a 3 run homer by 2010 NL MVP Joey Votto.
Then, Paul Janish hit a sac fly to score Jonny Gomes and the Reds had a big lead, 4-0.
Carlos Gomez singled to right to scored 2 runs in the 3rd, then in the 5th, Lucroy had a RBI Groundout, and then the Brew Crew tied it with a Prince Fielder RBI Groundout.
Joey Votto singled to right in the 6th to bring in Edgar Renteria, in the same inning, Brandon Phillips singled to score Drew Stubbs. Now 6-4 Reds.
But it was not over. Kotsay hit a 1 run single, the last, Rickie Weeks hit a Sac fly and the Brewers have tied it.
The Reds in the 10th did one thing. Just one, and it was a amazing one.
Drew Stubbs hit a solo Home Run in the 10th and the Reds won 7-6. The Reds don't play until Friday, when they go back home to face the surging Florida Marlins.
