By HD. The Oregon State Beavers were looking to win game 1 vs. a Very good Friday starter for UCLA, Gerrit Cole, and the Beavers got to him, big time. The Beavers won, 7-5, here's what happened....
Sam Gaviglio was on the mound for OSU, getting the win, and now he is 8-1.
The Bruins scored first, on a Sac Fly, then the Beavers tied it in the 3rd win a 1 run double by Jared Norris to score Ryan Barnes.
The Bruins took a 5-1 lead in the 5th, but thats when the Beavers went hot.
Carter Bell had a 3 run triple, scoring Norris, Keyes and Danny Hayes. The Beavers still trailing, 5-4, Ryan Dunn singles to score Bell, and the Beavers tied it.
Then, Tyler Smith scored on a balk giving the Beavers a 7-5 lead and that was it.
The Beavers are now 31-8 and 11-2 in Pac-10 play.
