A rivalry that was really tested last year, when the Cincinnati Reds and the St.Louis Cardinals got in a huge brawl.
It was a big part of the season when the Reds got swept in the Queen City, which gave the Cardinals a half a game lead in the NL Central.
But the Reds started to play Reds baseball and got back into first, clinch the NL Central last year.
Anyways, lets get on to the 3 game series in St. Louis.
GAME 1: Edison Volquez had a terrible outing vs. Pittsburgh, having early woes, and the Reds couldn't come back from a 4-0 hole. Volquez's record make look good, 2-0, but he has a 6.75 ERA. Now if you are a MLB Pitcher with that ERA, you are terrible. Kyle McClellan had been pitching very well lately, he is 2-0, with a 1.89 ERA. He is one of those guys that will beat you on any day. Now, to renew a rivalry, Look at these Shirts Cardinal Fans made making fun of Mike Leake's department store theft, but the truth is, don't make fun of a pitcher that is better than you ace, and we all know their ace, Chris Carpenter.
GAME 2: Reds will send young pitcher Travis Wood to the mound, vs. Cardinals ace, who has had a bad start to the season, Chris Carpenter, he 0-2 with a 4.13 ERA, all 4 starts he has had have been losses for his team. Wood is 1-2 with a 5.73 ERA. MY PREDICTION: Reds can't get my Carpenter ever, Carpenter is 9-0 vs. the Reds in his career.
GAME 3: This game will be on famous Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN. Sam LeCure will pitch for the Reds, but the Cardinals have not yet scheduled a pitcher for this game.
So that's the series preview. GO REDS!
