Reds beat Mariners, get 4th straight win in spring training.

By HD.

The Cincinnati Reds have just been dominating their Spring Training games, going 4-2 into this game vs. The Seattle Mariners. The Reds won, 3-1. Here's what happened......

Starting for the Queen City would be Chad Reineke and for Seattle would be Doug Fister. Reineke had a pretty good day, went 3 innings, gave up 3 hits and struck out 2. Here's how we scored....

In the second, Ramon Hernandez for the Reds hit a double down the left field line, then Fred Lewis knocked him in with a RBI single to put the Reds up, 1-0. But The Reds are never done, Later in the inning, Kris Negron hit a sac fly to send in Lewis, 2-0 Reds.

But, Mariners would sadly score in the 3rd when Ichiro hit a sac fly to bring in Dustin Ackley, 2-1 Reds.

Reds would retake a 2 run lead in the 5th however when Dave Sappelt hit a RBI single to bring in Negron, 3-1 now the score.

The Reds pitching did a great job, keeping the Mariners off the board for 4 more innings. A good job by Willis, Bray, Masset, Gil, and Valiquette. But the guy that suprised me the most was Dontrelle Willis.

Willis picthed 2 perfect relief innings vs. The Mariners and just look very good. Is the D-Train back???

So the Reds go to 5-2 and the Mariners will fall to 2-3 now losing 3 straight games. Today, The Reds will face the Los Angeles Dodgers at 12:05 PT.
