Reds win Opener in a walk-off.

By HD.

The Reds 2011 season opener was a slug fest. But, just 1 game into season, the Reds did it again.

The Reds were down by 2 runs in the 9th inning, and Ramon Hernandez hit one deep which scored 2 runs and the Reds come back to defeat the Brewers, 7-6.

The Brewers took a 3 run lead in the 1st, leading off with a Rickie Weeks solo jack, then Carlos Gomez hit a homer, then Casey McGehee hit a Sac fly to score Ryan Braun.

But, the Reds half of the 1st, 2010 NL MVP, Joey Votto hit a sac fly scoring Drew Stubbs. The Reds were still down 2 runs, but at least got some momentum.

But, then in the 2nd, the Brewers answered back with a double from Rickie Weeks scoring Wil Nieves. 4-1 Brewers.

Now down 3 runs, Drew Stubbs hit a solo homer and it was back to 2.

The Brewers got their biggest lead of the game win Braun drilled a solo jack then Casey McGehee had an RBI single.

Votto would smack one in the 7th for another Reds home run and that's when the 9th inning came. It will be a inning to remember.

Jonny Gomes had a RBI sac fly, scoring Brandon Phillips and then Ramon Hernandez hit the walk off homer to send the Reds to 1-0.

It is the 1st time since 2007 the Reds have won a opening day game and the fans were wild and Dusty Baker injoyed his teams performance, and Hernandez said, "I've played 12 years, and this is the most amazing Opening Day."

The Reds will start the season a right foot in first and the Cardinals play the Padres. The Reds play on Saturday at 4:10 PT. It will be Travis Wood vs. Shaun Marcum.

Reds vs. Brewers Series Preview.

By HD.

The Cincinnati Reds will start their first series tommorow vs. Milwaukee. It should be a great series. Here is a series preview of the Opening series of 2011.

AUTHORS NOTE: (Every Reds game, there will be a recap on here, OMOC Sports, and there will be a preview of every series).

Reds and Brewers face off on Thursday on Opening day!!!!

ITS OPENING DAY BASEBALL! C'mon! It's like a day you have to take off from school just to watch or work. It is a huge reason to watch. Great games are always on opening day, so lets get to it. Lets go REDS!

Game 1 THURSDAY 11:05 PM PT: Edinson Volquez will be pitching for Cincy, and Yovani Gallardo will pitch for the Brew Crew. We all remember last year when Brandon Phillips hit that 500 foot jack that landed into the yellow slide in Milwaukee right? But, this time, he will have to hit it into the people of Great American Ball Park. Volquez will looked very scary, and very terrible at times, but he will have to be the key guy to watch on opening day. The Reds also went with him in the 1st game of the playoffs last year when we lost to the Phillies. Let's see how 2010 MVP Joey Votto will do on Thursday.

GAME 2 SATURDAY 4:10 PM PT: Travis Wood, who flirted with a no-no and a perfect game last year, and see if he can go through his first full year with the Reds. The Brewers will send out Shaun Marcum to pitch. The guy to watch will be Veteran Shortstop, Edgar Renteria, last season's world series MVP, helping the Giants win the world series. Wood will be like a Greg Maddux some day hopefully. I would love to see the Reds have a Cy Young Winner like that. And how about Jonny Gomes, Jay Bruce and Drew Stubbs, the big 3 Out Fielders will have a game vs. Marcum. Marcum is not the best pitcher for the Brewers and is getting much better. And the bullpen will have to shut down the Brewers hitting staff who has Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun.

GAME 3 SUNDAY 10:10 PM PT: 2 Veteran pitchers will face off, Bronson Arroyo, who is dealing with Mono, and Randy Wolf the left hander. Jonny Gomes and Jay Bruce have had great hitting careers vs. Randy Wolf. Bruce has .438 BA, and 2 Homers and Gomes .626 BA, in 16 At Bats. Randy Wolf however, is 10-3 vs. The Reds in his career.

And that's it. The Cincinnati Reds opening series of the year will be tough, but we should win. GO REDS!!!!!

Blazers lose, now in 7th place.

By HD.

It will be a long night for the Blazers.

The Blazers had a tough loss tonight to the Hornets, 95-91 after having as much as a 11 point lead in the 2nd quarter.

LaMarcus Aldridge had 24 points and missed a three pointer with about 2 seconds remaining which could have made it a 1 point game and the Blazers a chance to win the game.

After a missed oppurtunity by the Hornets, a 91-88 game, Andre Miller jogged down the court, tried to go to the basket and was out of control and lost the ball trying to draw a foul.

Gerald Wallace finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and was hit hard by a Emeka Okafor screen which knocked him out but he came back.

Rudy Fernandez (left) gets his shot blocked by Willie Green.

Patty Mills also added 13 points and never missed a shot. Later in the 4th quarter, Jarrett Jack fouled Rudy Fernandez awfully hard, then Fernandez would go after Jack almost punching him in the face.

The Blazers will go to 43-32, the same record as the Hornets. The Rockets lost tonight to the 76ers, putting Portland in a pretty good position in the 7th spot.

Blazers comeback to defeat injured Spurs, 100-92.

By HD.

The Trail Blazers lost to Oklahoma City Yesterday, but today, they weren't ready for another loss. The Blazers beat the snake-bitten Spurs tonight, 100-92. Here's what happened.....

The Spurs were without 3 huge guys, Tim Duncan, a foot injury, Manu Ginobilli, sitting out with a injured leg, and so did Tony Parker.

The Blazers were facing young guns, such guys like George Hill, and Dejuan Blair.

The Blazers got off to a quick start with a 28-22 lead at the end of the 1st quarter, looking pretty sharp, and continued that sharpness into the 2nd quarter.

The Blazers had as much as a 9 point lead in the 1st half, taking a 58-51 lead at the half, but in the 3rd, the Spurs made their run. Just like a normal NBA Best team should.

The Trail Blazers scored only 9 points in the 3rd quarter, having more Turnovers than FG's. The Spurs opened on a 9-1 run on a pair of Free throws by Tiago Splitter. Then, after a long huge 3 by Gary Neal for the Spurs, put San Antonio up 72-67 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

The Spurs opened up the last quarter with a 8-3 quick run and the Blazers were now down by 8. The Blazers would then make their run.

81-74 lead for the Spurs, the Trail Blazers Andre Miller got a lay-up to make it a 5 point game. Then, Last Friday's Hero vs. the Spurs, Nicolas Batum drilled a 3 pointer to make it a 2 point game.

Wesley Matthews made it a 1 point game with a free throw, then Andre Miller added another 2 points to put the Blazers up by 1 with a lay-up. Nicolas Batum would make a quick 14 foot jumper, then Gerald Wallace drain a 3 pointer to put the Blazers up 6 with 2:01 to play.

After a missed 3 point play by Tiago Splitter, Wesley Matthews made 2 Free throws and the Trail Blazers just made free throws from here on out.

Andre Miller had 26 points, Wesley Matthews had 19, Gerald Wallace added 14, Nicolas Batum finished with 10 and Brandon Roy had 11.

The Blazers magic number to clinch a playoff spot is 5. Haha, talking about this reminds me of last years Reds season. The Blazers will go to 43-31 and will face the currently 7th spot, New Orleans Hornets on Wendsday.

The Spurs are still the best in the NBA, 57-17, and they have lost 4 straight.

Portland loses a nailbiter

Russell Westbrook is most dangerous when attacking the basket. Five fouls kept him from doing that late in Oklahoma City's game with Portland, but his perimeter play was more than enough.
Westbrook's three 3-pointers in the final 5 1/2 minutes, including the clincher with 21 seconds remaining, carried the Thunder to a 99-90 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday and clinched Oklahoma City's second straight playoff berth.
"You ask just about anybody, they'd rather have the ball in Westbrook's hands than [Kevin] Durant's hands late in the game, but he made some big shots," said Portland's Gerald Wallace, who scored 40 points, two short of his career high. "They've got a great two-headed snake over there."
Westbrook finished with 28 points and Durant had 21, but was he was just 5 of 18 from the field and scored only six in the second half. Wallace was unguardable at times in the second half as he carried the Trail Blazers back from a 14-point halftime deficit. But Oklahoma City made enough plays late to beat Portland for the third time in three tries.

Beaver Baseball clinches series win over UC Santa Barbara.

By HD.

The Oregon State Beavers were looking to clinch the series today vs. UC Santa Barbara. And they did, 11-5. Here's what happened.....

Josh Osich started on the hill today. Osich went 5 innings, gave up 3 hits and struck out 5.

The Beavers scored 4 runs in the 1st, starting with a Fielding error by UCSB, scoring Michael Miller. Then, Jared Norris would double, scoring 2, Andrew Susac and Ryan Barnes. Parker Berberet then singled to score Norris.

UCSB would score 2 in the 2nd, but Oregon State got their 4 run lead back, with a 2-run RBI single by Danny Hayes to score Michael Miller and Ryan Dunn.

The Beavers took a 8-2 lead in the 3rd when Michael Miller reached on an error, scoring Shortstop Carter Bell. Ryan Barnes would then have an RBI single scoring Kavin Keyes.

In the 5th the Beavers got to double digets making it 9-2 on a Ryan Barnes RBI single scoring Kavin Keyes, they would then make it 10-2 when Danny Hayes reached on a Fielders choice scoring Ryan Dunn.

In the 6th, the Beavers got their last run of the game with a Parker Berberet Solo Jack to lead the Beavers to a 11-5 win.

The Beavers are now 18-5.

LaMarcus Aldridge donates toward Japan Relief.

By HD.

5 year pro, LaMarcus Aldridge, has now pledged that every point he scores tomorrow vs. Oklahoma City will be 1,000 dollars donated to Direct Relief International's Japan Relief and Recovery Fund.

Aldridge isn't the first that has donated money. Aldridge joins the Gasol brothers, Marc and Pau, Hawks center Al Horford, Wizards PF JaVale McGee, Bulls All-star guard Derrick Rose, and OK City PG Russell Westbrook.

Of course, we have been over these stats before, Aldridge leads the Blazers this season with 22.2 PPG, 11 games with 30 points or more, and 2 games over 40, (Spurs 40, Bulls 42).

Formed with the Japanese American Citizens
League (JACL), Direct Relief’s Fund supports the
immediate health needs of people by working with
local authorities best situated to assess, respond, and prepare for the long-term recovery.

Hopefully, LaMarcus Aldridge will have like 40 tomorrow so he can help Japan.

Bronson Arroyo has Mononucleosis.

By HD.
Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher, Bronson will probably have to join Johnny Cueto and Homer Bailey on the DL to start the season.

Arroyo, has been ill for at least 2 weeks, was diagnosed with Mononucleosis.

Mononucleosis is a viral disease that is marked by fatigue, fever and a sore throat. There are no drugs to cure mono; the only treatments are rest and medications to alleviate the symptoms, which usually dissipate in four to eight weeks.

Arroyo says that he does not expect to miss any starts however.

The Reds rotation will look like this coming into the season.
1. Edinson Volquez.
2. *Bronson Arroyo.
3. Mike Leake (Replacement for Johnny Cueto).
4. Travis Wood.
5. Sam Lecure (Replacement for Homer Bailey).
*Possibly on DL.

It wouldn't be good to see Arroyo hurt, he was the one to had the most wins for the Reds last season. If there will be more news, we will keep you updated.

Blazers win on a Nicolas Batum buzzer beater.

By HD.

After hitting 2 Free throws to tie the game at 96 with just 0.9 left, Nicolas Batum must be tired, right? Think again.

With just 0.9 left, the San Antonio Spurs would get the ball back after 2 clutch free throws by Nicolas Batum. Steve Novaks pass would be way off, so the Blazers had one last chance.

The Blazers took advantage, an inbounds pass from Andre Miller, straight to the rim to Nicolas Batum, who would then tip in a game winning lay up for a huge 98-96 win.

The Spurs had as big as a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter, but that didn't stop the Blazers.

Down 96-92, Portland would play tough Defense, getting a steal from Tony Parker and Andre Miller took it to the rack and scored. Next play, Wesley Matthews got a steal on Manu Ginobilli, thats when Nicolas Batum on the fast break was fouled then tied it with 0.9 left.

All 5 Blazer starters scored in double figures, Gerald Wallace had 14, Batum had 21, LaMarcus Aldridge had 14 also, Miller had 21 and Wesley Matthews had 15 points.

"That was a big game. It was a really big game before we go back out there and play them again," said Miller, who had 21 points and eight assists. "You don't want to go out on a road trip losing a home game to a team that you're going to play again in a couple of days."

"Tonight, we hung in there," Blazers coach Nate McMillan said. "We didn't panic late. We had to make stops and make plays. We didn't drop our heads, we continued to play."

The Trail Blazers finished the game on a 20-8 run and ended the game on a 8-0 run in the final minute.

The Blazers will stay in 6th in the West, just 2 1/2 game out of Denver for the 5th spot. The Blazers pick up their 42nd win of the year, now 42-30.

The Spurs are still a NBA best 57-15.

Oregon State Wins first game of 3 game series with UC Santa Barbara.

By HD.

The Beavers were looking to take down UC Santa Barbara in the first game of a three game series. They did, 6-3. And, see why Sam Gaviglio's perfecto season has changed, and not changed.

Sam Gaviglio was on the hill for the Beavers, going 8 innings, but his 41.2 innings of o runs given up has sadly ended.

The Beavers scored four runs against UCSB’s ace, Jesse Meaux, knocking him out in the fifth inning and the feel-good vibe about ending Gaviglio’s streak ended there.

But OSU (17-5) scored once in the fourth and then three times in the fifth, chasing Meaux. It was the senior’s shortest start since May 2, 2010 vs. UC Riverside. Meaux allowed four runs in six hits, walking three and striking out one in 4.2 innings.

The Beavers get a big win! woo hoo!

Oregon State scored a run in the sixth and seventh innings to take a 6-2 lead.

Chapman ready for next step in 2011.

By HD.

With only 15 appearances last year, Aroldis Chapman, is ready to take the next step.

Chapman, remember him? Throwing over 105 MPH, and this season, Chapman is ready to play his first full season.

Chapman says, "I think the little experience I had last year and what has happened so far here has got me more experience. "I definitely feel more confident. I've been able to work better on the field. Since Spring Training started, I've been feeling better and better every day. ... Yes, I feel ready. Like everybody else, we are ready to start the season now."

Chapman, now 23, from Cuba, and signed a $30.25 million contract with the top-bidding Reds in January 2010.

Last year, vs. the Padres, Aroldis Chapman, threw the fastest pitch since 2007, at 105.1 MPH, but, it was a ball to Tony Gwynn Jr.

In those 15 big league games out of the Cincinnati bullpen, Chapman was 2-2 with a 2.03 ERA, five walks and 19 strikeouts over 13 1/3 innings. He started out in low-pressure situations, facing the bottom of the order and eventually graduated to setup roles in the seventh or eighth innings.

It will be scary for teams. We will see when the Reds start their regular season games next Thursday vs. The Brewers.

Beavers bounce back after upset to beat Seattle U.

By HD.

The Oregon State Beavers probably faced their worst loss of the season on Tuesday, but today, they probably got their best bounce back win of the season.

The Beavers beat Seattle U today, 4-2, here's what happened.....

Ben Wetzler was on the hill for OSU, who only went 3.2 innings, gave up 3 hits, gave up 2 unearned runs.

In the 3rd, the Beavers took a 2-0 lead on a Sac fly by Michael Miller to score Jared Norris, then Ryan Barnes drove in a run on a double scoring Kavin Keyes.

The Redhawks of Seattle score 2 runs in the 4th, but the Beavers bounce back with a run in the 5th to retake the lead on a Ryan Barnes double to score Michael Miller.

The Beavers scored another run in the 6th to make it a 4-2 lead on a RBI single by Jared Norris to score Danny Hayes. The Beavers led 4-2, and thats how it ended.

The Beavers will go to 16-5 and Seattle went to 9-7.

Hard Knocks coming to Oakland?

By HD.
A famous show, an HBO special every year for NFL training camp, named Hard Knocks, has thought about the Raiders for this years episode(if we have a NFL season because of the Lockout).

Last year, it was the New York Jets. This year, HBO is very considering the Raiders for this years episode.

Last season, the Raiders had a suprising season, going 8-8 and 6-0 in the AFC West. But, just 2 wins outside of their division, the Raiders fell just short of a division title and playoffs.

This year should be harder (if we have one because of the Lockout). The Raiders will be playing even better teams, but in this years draft, the Raiders will have to draft someone good.

The highlight of Oakland, (which will probably be in Hard Knocks if we get the episode), is the Fans. Look at the picture I have posted. Those are die hard fans. Better than any Cheesehead's or even yellow towel's.

Oakland fans are violent, vicious, and thats why I don't want to go to a Raider game. These guys are so cheesy though with their makeup and stuff. But it cracks me up, its great we have loyal fans.

Blazers crush Wizards for huge win.

By HD.

The Portland Trail Blazers were worn out. A bad loss after a comeback by the Lakers to lose by 4, they were looking to bounce back tonight. They did, defeating the Washington Wizards, 111-76. Here's what happened......

The Blazers down early, 14-12, but went on a 18-6 run to retake a 30-20 lead and then never trailed ever again in the game taking a big 62-45 lead at the half.

Gerald Wallace was the leading scorer in the game with 28 points with 8 rebounds, 3 AST., and 4 steals.

Most importantly, 5 Blazers scored in double figures, Wallace had 28, Nicolas Batum had 22, LaMarcus Aldridge also added 22, Wesley Matthews had 15, and Rudy Fernandez had 10 points.

Another guy that showed a lot of skills in this game was Chris Johnson. It's exactly what guys should do when they get their chance. Johnson had 7 points, 2 dunks and a 3 point play.

Marcus Camby sat out tonight, due to a sprained Ankle, but he should be back by Friday vs. The Spurs. By the way, today was his birthday.

Now, it was a huge win because the Blazers are now just a game out of Denver for 5th in the West, but Im not to sure if we want to face Oklahoma City in the first round. They are a great young team.

The Blazers are still in 6th in th West, now a game ahead of New Orleans.

John Wall led the Wizards with 9 points, 3 rebounds, 7 AST., and 3 steals. The Wizards will go to the 2nd worst in the East at 17-52 and 1-32 on the road.

Marcus Camby's X-rays on ankle negative.

By HD.

Last night, in a loss to the hottest team in the NBA, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Portland Trail Blazers almost lost a important guy to this team.

Marcus Camby, hurt his ankle in last nights tough loss to the Lakers, 84-80.

Camby did not return after injuring his ankle but today, the X-rays came out Negative.

However, Marcus is questionable for tuesday nights game vs. the Washington Wizards.

The Blazers wont miss him in the Wizards game, which should be an easy win for Portland, but we lost to the Wizards earlier this season.

It is important to get him back on Friday vs. the Spurs. We need him to guard Mr. All-Star Tim Duncan.

Johnny Cueto to miss start of the season.

By HD.

A Sore tight elbow will shutdown Reds pitcher Johnny Cueto for the start of the season.

Cueto flew back to Cincinnati and had an MRI that found inflammation in the shoulder. He had to leave his last two spring training starts because of soreness. Doctors have advised him not to throw for at least a week.

The Reds plan to leave him behind to work out in Arizona when they head north to start the season against Milwaukee on March 31.

The injury forces manager Dusty Baker to change his rotation. He's now planning to go with Edinson Volquez, Homer Bailey, Bronson Arroyo, Travis Wood and Mike Leake.

Oregon State up to 18th on OMOC Sports Baseball poll, Sam Gaviglio named Player of the week.

By HD.

The Oregon State Baseball team has moved up to 18th in the OMOC Sports College Baseball poll but, they have entered the AP top 25 at #23 for the first time this season.

The Beavers aren't the only team in the top 25 from the Pac-10. Along with 5 other teams, Arizona State, Arizona, UCLA, Stanford, and Califorina.

Now on to Sam Gaviglio.

He has been Hot lately. Acctully this whole season he has.

Sam is 4-0 with a ERA of 0.00. Sam has not yet gave up a earned run this season in 4 starts. Perfect? I think so!

Gaviglio began Oregon State's weekend on the right foot as the right-hander took a perfect game into the eighth inning Friday night in OSU's 4-0 victory. He allowed one hit - a single in the eighth - and ended the game with 14 strikeouts, the most by a Beavers' pitcher since 2001.

It is the second game this season in which he has allowed two hits or less; on Feb. 25, he held then-No. 14 Connecticut to two hits and was subsequently named the Pacific-10 Conference Pitcher of the Week.

He has been of course outstanding lately. But can he keep it up? Perfecto.

Oregon State returns to Goss Stadium Tuesday to start a two-game midweek series with Seattle First pitch Tuesday is scheduled for 5:35 p.m. PT.

What is wrong with Johnny Cueto?

By HD.

Something is wrong with Johnny Cueto, a starting pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds.

Johnny Cueto, left early yesterday in a win for the Reds over the Rockies.

Last week, he left early because his forearm was barking like a wild dog. Literally, it was going BARK, BARK, BARK!

Haha, no Im just playing. But his arm was really hurting.

After one long eventful inning, Cueto was gone after giving up two runs, two hits and hitting a batter while throwing 33 pitches. Cueto's fastball, normally in the 92 to 95 miles an hour range, was clocked by a scout behind home plate at 87 to 90.

Cueto exited the ballpark after the second innings, escorted by assistant team trainer Steve Baumann and minor-league pitching instructor Mario Soto. Before they boarded a bus for the mile trip to the training room, Soto said to writers, "He is going to see a doctor right now and he'll
catch you guys later."

It's not good that Johnny Is hurt, he is a great pitcher. We will keep you updated if more news comes.

Blazers hold off 76ers, 110-101.

By HD.

Gerald Wallace was "on" tonight.

Gerald Wallace of the Portland Trail Blazers had a wonderful game. He had 25 points, 8 AST., 6 Rebounds, and 4 steals helping the Blazers defeat the Phildelphia 76ers, 110-101.

The Blazers played awesome tonight, shooting 51 % and had 4 players in double figures.

Wallace had 25 points, Nicolas Batum had 16, LaMarcus Aldridge had 18, and Wesley Matthews was the games leading scorer with 28.

The Blazers led 36-27 after 1, and was high scoring from there as Wesley Matthews finished with 20 points at the half, but only had 8 in the 2nd half.

At 5:50, Jodie Meeks from the sixers took it to the rack and scored, making it only a 2 point game. But, the Blazers would not let up. Andre Miller had a lay-up then Nicolas Batum drained a 3 putting the 76ers in desperation time and the Blazers led by 7.

The Trail Blazers only had 4 point lead after 3 but pulled away in the 4th, going up 99-89 with a LaMarcus Aldridge jumper.

The Blazers get a big win and get their 40th win of the season and are in 6th in the West. And just a 1/2 a game out of the Denver Nuggets.

The 76ers will go to 7th in the East and 36-34. Oh yeah, and Happy Birthday to Andre Miller!!

Beavers beat Long Beach St. in First game of double-header.

By HD.

The Oregon State Beavers were looking to clinch the series today and they did getting the first win of a Double-Header, 9-6. Here's what happened....

Long Beach state took a 2-0 lead heading into the 5th but the Beavers struck with 3 runs.

Garrett Nash would be walked, but on the same pitch, Michael Miller would score on a passed ball. Later, Andrew Susac would have a RBI single scoring Ryan Dunn, and the Beavers have tied it.

The Beavers would meanwhile tie it at 3 but here come the Dirtbags and they tied it at 3 in the bottom of the 5th.

Oregon State would get their lead back in the 7th with 5 runs scored. Danny Hayes hit a double down the line scoring Susac and Brain Stamps. Later, Hayes would score on an error, making it 6-3 Beavers. Mike Miller would double 2 in capping off a 5 run inning and putting his Beaver team up, 8-3.

The Beavers score 1 more in the 8th on a Danny Hayes RBI Sac Fly to score Garrett Nash.

It got mighty ugly in the 9th, Matt Boyd gave up 1 run, but a play was reversed would Long beach St. First baseman doubled down the line that was called fair at first, but Pat Casey got up and argued with the Ump and The Beavers would survive a 2 run double which could have made it a 1 run game.

So the Beavers win their 12 straight and go to 15-3 and should be ranked on the National polls after this week.

James Rodgers changes number to #1.

By HD.

Oregon State WR James Rodgers has changed his number to #1.

I had no idea he did that until I was browsing around in the Oregon State website then went to the Football Roster and he has changed his number #8 to #1.

His brother, Jacquizz Rodgers, was #1 when he played for Oregon State for 3 years and declared for the NFL draft on the same day of the BCS National Championship game.

It was probably to remember his brother, but I don't think he should have changed his number and honstly, his brother shouldn't have even declared for the NFL Draft because he is way to small.

If you are a Beaver fan, you will remember last years game vs. Arizona. James got hurt and then was out for the season and he was in a wheelchair. The Beavers ended up winning the game, 29-27. Then went to 2-0 in the Pac-10 but would end up 5-7 overall with no bowl.

It was nice for James Rodgers to change his number in memory of his Brother heading to the NFL.

Until more Beaver news....GO BEAVERS!!!!

The Oregon State Beavers Ace Sam Gaviglio pitched awesome again today, beating Long Beach State, 4-0. Here's what happened....

LaMarcus Aldridge MVP Talks.

By HD.

So, recent talk lately has put Portland Trail Blazers PF, LaMarcus Aldridge in MVP Talk.

No doubt Aldridge has led the Blazers this season, getting a career high vs. the Bulls, who are the best team in the East, and has led Portland without their All-Star guard Brandon Roy.

The Blazers picked up Wesley Matthews who has played outstanding lately keeping the Blazers in some close games who has also helped Aldridge and the Blazers get where they are now.

Aldridge has 22.3 PPG, putting him in 12th in the NBA in scoring, and 6th in the West in scoring. The Blazers are also 18-6 when LaMarcus scores 25 points or more.

Even All-Star Mavericks PF Dirk Nowitzki said, "He's having a tremendous year, he's tough because he's got length, he's got the in-between shot, he has really worked on his post moves it looks like I am a fan of L-Train coming through."

But, they're other guys that are looking to be MVP's this season too. Such as Bulls PG Derrick Rose, and 2 of the Miami Heat's Big three, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.

Here are the OFFICAL OMOC Sports Canidates.
1. Derrick Rose. Chicago Bulls
2. Kevin Durant. Oklahoma City Thunder
3. LeBron James. Miami Heat
4. Kobe Bryant. Los Angeles Lakers
5. Amare Stoudamire. New York Knicks
6. Dwyane Wade. Miami Heat
7. LaMarcus Aldridge. Portland Trail Blazers
8. Dirk Nowitzki. Dallas Mavericks
9. Chris Paul. New Orleans Hornets
10. Kevin Garnett. Boston Celtics.
So, if LaMarcus Aldridge can keep this up, he can easily finish in the top 5 of MVP's or even top 3.

Trail Blazers crush Cavs.

By HD.

It was st. Patty's day. The old folks will tell us. The day, the Portland Trail Blazers murdered the Cleveland Cavaliers, 111-70. No green on the court. Just 2 hard fighting teams. Here's what happened....

The Trail Blazers led 30-4 in the first quarter and almost held the Cavs to a NBA record if they could have just not allowed 8 points. It wasent the worst loss for the Cavaliers. Who lost to The Los Angeles Lakers earlier this season by 55 points.

Gerald Wallace had 17 points for P-town, with 6 rebounds and 6 ast. The Blazers have not beat the Cavs since 2007 and LeBron James was the reason.

LaMarcus Aldridge added another Double-Double with 20 points and 11 rebounds and didnt play any of the 4th quarter and was benched mid way threw the 3rd quarter.

The Blazers biggest lead was 44, before tonights game, the Blazers recent biggest win this season was vs. Milwaukee with just a 26 points win.

The Blazers will play the Phildelphia 76ers on Saturday, as the Blazers will try to find a 3 game winning streak. The Blazers go to 39-29 and tie with New Orleans in the 6th spot in the west.

The Cavs will drop to a league's worst, 13-54.

Portland Trailblazers vs Dallas Mavericks

LaMarcus Aldridge scored 30 points and Brandon Roy added 21 off the bench, including a key jumper with less than a minute to go, as thePortland Trail Blazers beat the Dallas Mavericks 104-101 on Tuesday night.
The Blazers led 100-94 with 3:50 left, but Jason Terry's basket narrowed it to 100-99. Roy hit a pair of free throws before a pull-up jumper that made it 104-99 with 47 seconds left.
Dirk Nowitzki hit a pair of free throws, but after a timeout with 8.8 seconds on the clock, he missed a 3-point attempt from the corner and time ran out for the Mavericks.
Nowitzki finished with 28 points and 11 rebounds for Dallas, which shot 59.7 percent for the game.
The Mavericks had a tense moment in the first half when Nowitzki left the court with what appeared to be a shoulder injury. He returned to the bench a short time later, however.
Dallas made its first 10 shots and didn't miss until Brian Cardinal's failed 3-point attempt with 3:25 left in the first quarter. The errant shot earned applause from the Rose Garden crowd. The Mavs shot 73 percent in the first quarter.
Dallas led by as many as eight points early, but Portland narrowed the gap to 24-21 on Aldridge's dunk. Portland briefly took the lead when Wesley Matthews' 3-pointer made it 45-43. But Dallas quickly reclaimed the lead on Terry's 3-pointer and the Mavericks were up 56-53 at the break.
The Mavericks extended the lead to 71-62 on Tyson Chandler's dunk. The Blazers kept up the pressure, and Aldridge tied it at 76 with a turnaround jumper late in the third quarter. Portland took a 78-76 lead on Roy's layup.
It was the first of 10 straight points for Roy in a 10-2 run that that put Portland up 86-80 early in the fourth quarter.
The Mavericks were without Brendan Haywood, who was sitting with lower back stiffness. Peja Stojakovic missed his fourth straight game with a stiff neck.
The Blazers switched things up by starting Gerald Wallace in place of Marcus Camby. Wallace, an All-Star last season, came to the Blazers in a trade with Charlotte at the deadline last month.
Camby had arthroscopic knee surgery in January and his minutes have been limited since his return. Blazers coach Nate McMillan did not say whether the change was permanent.
Portland was home after two straight losses on the road. The Mavericks were coming off a 96-91 loss at home to the Lakers on Sunday.

Gerald Wallace to make first Start as a Trail Blazers tonight!!!

By HD.

Gerald Wallace will be starting tonight in front of Marcus Camby, so Gerald will play Center.

My prediction: Gerald Wallace have to step up and score the basketball and get the Blazers a lead and win. I say Blazers win by 5.

Thats all. So GO BLAZERS!

p.s. I have to leave because it starts right now!

Reds, Hanigan Agree on 3 year deal.

By HD.

The Cincinnati Reds and Catcher Ryan Hanigan have agreed to a 3 year deal worth 4 Million.

"I'm just excited to be part of this organization and the direction they're going," Hanigan said prior to the Reds' game at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick against the Rockies. "They're locking up some guys, and with the way things went last year, I just feel good to have a chance to be part of that."

The feeling is mutual. After all, not every player has a career track like Hanigan's, and not every team has the type of catching corps the Reds will boast again this year, with Hanigan and veteran Ramon Hernandez teaming up behind the plate.

"We're happy," Reds GM Walt Jocketty said. "It obviously gives him some financial security, and gives us a guy in place for the next two years after this as we transition some of our younger guys up here. He's done a good job and he deserves it.

"With he and Ramon this year, we have another year of what we think will be a great catching tandem, offensively and defensively."

Hanigan, 30, hit .300 with five homers and 40 RBIs last season in 70 games, joining with Hernandez to provide the Reds with perhaps the strongest catching tandem in the game. Combined, the two led all NL catchers in hitting (.296) and hits (154) while ranking second in RBI (88) and third in on-base percentage (.375).

Who will be the Leader of the Reds this year?

By HD.

Last season, the Reds had a magical season lead by 2010 NL MVP Joey Votto. This year, will it be Votto, or someone else leading the Reds? Here's who I think will....

Joey Votto. Yes, MVP will always help team win games, BUT, If Votto is in a slump or injured, Drew Stubbs will have to be the leader.

Stubbs, hit .255 last year with 22 Homer and 77 RBI's. If he didnt strike out as much, Drew would have had a .300 BA. Last season, he also had a three home run game vs. the Cubs.

Another Guy that will have to lead the Reds will be Jay Bruce. I bet Astro Fans remember him! He hit the Divsion Clinching walk off home run to win the NL central. He hit .281 last year with 25 Homers and 70 RBI's.

The last guy that will need to help the Reds is Jonny Gomes. Johnny had a breakout season last year batting .266 with 18 Homers and 86 RBI's! He had a great season and early on in the season was pretty much carrying this team on his back.

So, The Big 4. Jonny Gomes, Joey Votto, Drew Stubbs, and Jay Bruce. Much Better than the lame Big 3.

GO REDS!
