Figures from 2010 show that Routt is emerging as an elite cornerback in the NFL. According to Stats, Inc., Routt ranked among the top three cornerbacks in the league, allowing completions on only 39 percent of the attempts thrown his way. That percentage was the lowest in the NFL of any player targeted at least 60 times.
In the regular season finale at Kansas City on January 2, Routt returned a fourth quarter interception 22 yards for a touchdown to seal a 31-10 Raider victory.
Since entering the NFL as Oakland’s second round draft pick in 2005, Routt has played in 94 league games and has six career interceptions, two sacks, 35 passes defensed and one forced fumble. He set a career high with three interceptions in 2007.
Now the signing of RB Rock Cartwright. Rock really didnt have the best season last year, but here's why we re-signed him.
After just one season with the Silver and Black, Cartwright was voted the 2010 Commitment to Excellence Award winner. Recipients of the award are chosen by their teammates and are selected based on their hard work, leadership, and excellence on and off the field throughout the season.
Cartwright blocked a punt for a safety during the Raiders 2010 Week 5 win over the San Diego Chargers in Oakland, returned six kickoffs for 103 yards, forced a fumble while making a special teams tackle against the Kansas City Cheifs during a Week 9 23-20 overtime win in Oakland, and made 17 special teams tackles on the season.
The nine-year pro out of Kansas State has played in 139 career games and has also rushed for 911 yards on 224 carries (4.1) and six touchdowns.
