On Thursday, The Oakland Raiders placed a Franchise tag on Linebacker Kamerion Wimbley.
The franchise tag was used as a result of the league disallowing the Raiders the utilization of the buyback clause in the linebacker’s existing contract, to which the team had access.
“Kamerion is a great young talent and he and the Raiders are excited about him continuing his career as a member of the Silver and Black,” said Raiders Head Coach Hue Jackson.
Wimbley did have a pretty good season last year helping the Raiders Defense to lead the team to 8-8 to the first time at .500 since 2002, (our super bowl year).
Wimbley led the Silver and Black in sacks last year with nine.
