Beavers huge 8th inning leads to a win.

By HD.

Danny Hayes' pinch hit double drove 2 in the 8th inning to give the Oregon state Beavers baseball team a 7-5 win over Indiana on Sunday.

Hayes, pinch hitting for Luke Acosta, drove a two-run double to left with no outs, scoring Ryan Dunn and Parker Berberet, giving the Beavers at 6-5 lead. Two batters later, and with the bases loaded, Tyler Smith walked, giving the Beavers their final 7-5 lead.

Cole Baylis picked up the win after working 1 2/3 scoreless innings. He walked one and struck out two to pick up his first win of the season.

The three runs in the eighth erased a one-run lead for Indiana, 5-4, after seven innings. The Beavers held a 4-3 lead after five but the Hoosiers scored runs in both the sixth and seventh innings to take the lead.

The Beavers were led offensively by Berberet and Andrew Suscac, who tallied two hits apiece. Berberet tied Hayes for the team lead with two RBI apiece.

Despite 7 runs, the Beavers offense was acctuley pretty down today. In the 6th and 7th, the Beavs went 3 up, 3 down. The Offense in my opinion, needs to improve.

Cam Booser started for the Beavers and went three full innings; he did not get the decision. Booser, making his second career start, allowed four hits and a run while striking out one.

The Beavers went to 4-3 on the season and Indiana went to 3-3.

Reds Spring Training starts tommrow.

By HD.

The Cincinnati Reds will start their Spring Training tommrow in Goodyear, Arizona. The Reds have been catching Fly balls, practicing in Goodyear for a couple weeks now, but tommrow, the Reds will start their Spring Training Cactus leauge games vs. the Cleveland Indians. Game time is set for 12:05 PT.

Beavers final home game ends in loss.

CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Allen Crabbe scored 26 points, Markhuri Sanders-Frison added 16 and California overcame a slow start to beat Oregon State 87-76 Saturday.

Jorge Gutierrez had 14 points and nine assists and Harper Kamp added 12 points for the Golden Bears (16-13, 9-8 Pac-10), who overcame a first-half double digit deficit for the second straight game.

Crabbe was 8 of 12 from the field for Cal, which has won three in a row.

Ahmad Starks scored 18 points and Jared Cunningham added 14 for the Beavers (10-17, 5-11), who lost for the fifth time in six games and saw a 12-point first half lead disappear. They were booed by the home fans at the end of the game.

Omari Johnson added 10 points and eight rebounds for Oregon State.

Raiders Re-sign Cartwright and Routt.

By HD.

The Oakland Raiders have re-signed starting cornerback Stanford Routt. Routt, 27, is entering his seventh NFL season and is coming off his best year as a pro in 2010, establishing career highs in tackles (55), passes defensed (13), forced fumbles (one) and touchdowns (one).

Figures from 2010 show that Routt is emerging as an elite cornerback in the NFL. According to Stats, Inc., Routt ranked among the top three cornerbacks in the league, allowing completions on only 39 percent of the attempts thrown his way. That percentage was the lowest in the NFL of any player targeted at least 60 times.

In the regular season finale at Kansas City on January 2, Routt returned a fourth quarter interception 22 yards for a touchdown to seal a 31-10 Raider victory.

Since entering the NFL as Oakland’s second round draft pick in 2005, Routt has played in 94 league games and has six career interceptions, two sacks, 35 passes defensed and one forced fumble. He set a career high with three interceptions in 2007.

Now the signing of RB Rock Cartwright. Rock really didnt have the best season last year, but here's why we re-signed him.

After just one season with the Silver and Black, Cartwright was voted the 2010 Commitment to Excellence Award winner. Recipients of the award are chosen by their teammates and are selected based on their hard work, leadership, and excellence on and off the field throughout the season.

Cartwright blocked a punt for a safety during the Raiders 2010 Week 5 win over the San Diego Chargers in Oakland, returned six kickoffs for 103 yards, forced a fumble while making a special teams tackle against the Kansas City Cheifs during a Week 9 23-20 overtime win in Oakland, and made 17 special teams tackles on the season.

The nine-year pro out of Kansas State has played in 139 career games and has also rushed for 911 yards on 224 carries (4.1) and six touchdowns.

Blazers escape with OT win.

By HD.

One shot, one oppertuninty, some lyrics from the song Lose Yourself, by Eminem. Those Lyrics have to be going on it Brandon Roy's head right now.

Brandon Roy finished with 18 points, 5 Rebounds to help the Portland Trail Blazers escape, 107-106 in Overtime.

The Blazers were down 96-91 with just 15 seconds left until Rudy Fernandez hit a 3 to make it 96-94. The Nuggets would hit a FT, but you wouldnt belive what happened next....

The Blazers would get the Ball back with just 13 seconds to go. Brandon Roy would then hit a 3 pointer with only 5 seconds left to send the game into OT.

The Blazers would take a quick lead in OT with a Wesley Matthews corner 3 pointer to make it 100-97.

The Nuggets would get 2 FT from Nene to make it 100-99. Close game. Very close. Maybe too close.

LaMarcus Aldridge would then get a Basket with a ally-oop dunk from Fernandez. 102-99.

Nene would then get a layup making it 102-101. The Blazers would score again, with 2 FT from Rudy Fernandez.

Arron Afflalo would drill a three to take a 104-104 game. The Blazers would answer back with 1 FT from Wesley Matthews to make it 106-105 Nuggets lead.

LaMarcus Aldridge would make 2 FT's and Danilo Gallinari would miss a Game-winner and the Blazers hang on in OT, 107-106. GO BLAZERS!!!

Sam Gaviglio throws Two hit shutout as the Beavers top #15 UCONN.

By HD.

Oregon state was much needing a win today. The Beavers have lost 2 straight but that streak stopped today with a 2-0 win over the #15 Uconn Huskies.

Sam Gaviglio pitched extremley well, throwing a 2 hit shutout Gaviglio ended the game with 10 strikeouts, his second career time in double figures, and he allowed just two hits with one walk in his first win of the season.

The righty retired the first 12 batters he faced before allowing a single by first baseman Mike Nemeth to start the fifth inning. He also walked Doug Elliott during the inning, the only time two runners reached base in the same inning.

Gaviglio retired the side in the first, second, third, fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth innings. He allowed a two-out single to John Andreoli in the ninth, but retired Nick Ahmed on a fielder's choice right after to end the game.

The junior finished the game having thrown 115 pitches and faced 29 batters, just two over the minimum.

"That was an outstanding start by Sam and a great way for us to start the weekend," Oregon State head coach Pat Casey said. "UConn is an outstanding hitting team and he was able to control the plate. He is looking very good early on this season."

In two starts this season, Gaviglio has a 1-0 record and 0.00 earned run average in 15 2/3 innings. He has allowed eight hits and two runs - both unearned - while striking out 15 and walking just one. Opponents are hitting .143 against him.

Moving on, this is how the Beavs scored....

Ryan Stamps making his first career start at second, opened the third by drawing a 3-1 walk. He moved to second when Garrett Nash was hit by a pitch. The two then moved up when Glynn was charged with a balk.

Brian Stamps drove in the Beavers' first run of the inning, and what would turn out to be the game-winner, when he grounded out to second on a 2-2 pitch. That scored Dunn, and moved Nash to third, where he scored as the next batter, Luke Acosta, grounded out to short on a 1-0 pitch.

Raiders place Franchise Tag on Kamerion Wimbley.

By HD.

On Thursday, The Oakland Raiders placed a Franchise tag on Linebacker Kamerion Wimbley.

The franchise tag was used as a result of the league disallowing the Raiders the utilization of the buyback clause in the linebacker’s existing contract, to which the team had access.

“Kamerion is a great young talent and he and the Raiders are excited about him continuing his career as a member of the Silver and Black,” said Raiders Head Coach Hue Jackson.

Wimbley did have a pretty good season last year helping the Raiders Defense to lead the team to 8-8 to the first time at .500 since 2002, (our super bowl year).

Wimbley led the Silver and Black in sacks last year with nine.

Gerald Wallace to Portland.

By HD.

The Portland Trail Blazers have acquired forward Gerald Wallace from the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for center Joel Przybilla, forward Dante Cunningham, forward/center Sean Marks, a 2011 conditional first round pick acquired from New Orleans and a conditional 2013 first round pick, it was announced today by General Manager Rich Cho.

“I want to welcome Gerald to the Trail Blazers,” said Trail Blazers Owner Paul Allen. “He is just the sort of talent we were looking for. I’m sure our fans will embrace him and hopefully he can help us make some noise in the playoffs.

“I also want to thank Joel, Dante and Sean. Joel has been a warrior for this franchise over the past six and 1/2 seasons and Dante has played an important role in the success this team has had this season.”

Wallace, 28, posted averages of 15.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.23 steals, 1.00 blocked shots and 39.0 minutes in 48 games (all starts) with the Bobcats this season. He scored 20 points or more 17 times and recorded 14 double-doubles.

In nine-plus seasons with Charlotte and Sacramento, Wallace holds career averages of 13.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.49 steals, 0.96 blocks and 30.5 minutes in 592 games (453 starts).

Is this a good trade or bad trade? You pick. Comment below, tell us what you think.

Beavers Finally win, beating Stanford, 87-80.

By HD.

The Oregon state beavers were struggling lately, losing 4 straight games, (Washington State, USC, UCLA, and Oregon), well tonight was different. The Beavers finally pulled out a win over Stanford, 87-80. Here's what happened.....

Oregon State outscored Stanford 13-5 in the last 2:18 to claim an 87-80 win at Gill Coliseum on Thursday night.

Jared Cunningham had 17 of his team-high 21 points in the second half for Oregon State (10-16, 5-10 Pac-10), which had lost four straight and 10 of its previous 12.

Calvin Haynes added 14 points and Roberto Nelson 12 points for the Beavers, who shot 32 of 52 from the field after hitting just 36.6 percent of their shots in the previous eight games.

Jeremy Green had 24 points for Stanford (13-14, 6-10), which has now lost four straight.

The lead was traded three times in the last five minutes before Cunningham's three-point play with 1:29 left put the Beavers ahead for good at 80-77. After a Stanford miss, Oregon State's Devon Collier scored after grabbing an offensive rebound.

Cunningham and Haynes had dunks off Collier assists in the closing seconds to ice the game.

The game was much different then the loss at Stanford earlier this season. The Beavers had 2 slams at the end of the game. Jared Cunningham getting a break away dunk and then Calvin Haynes dunked it with just 1.3 left.

The next game will be vs. California, (15-13, 8-8 in Pac-10). Oregon state will go to 10-16 and 5-10 in Pac-10.

NBA Refs suck, Blazers lose in Roy's Return.

By HD.

Man, how bad are the NBA refs today? I will tell you now.

They cost The Portland Trail blazers a win last night just before the end of regulation. Here's what happened....

Under a 1:00 left in the game, Blazers leading 87-80. Blazers have the ball, Nicolas Batum, shoots a three for the Dagger! Short. The three could have changed the whole game.

In the last 1:00, the Lakers where asking to be put away. Leaving Nicolas Batum and Wesley Matthews open 2 times but the Blazers couldnt hit. The Lakers had the ball next and Ron Artest drilled a 3 with under :40 left. 87-83.

The Blazers can still win it right? Nope we blow it again with a turnover and the Lakers get it back and boom! Kobe Bryant hits a Fade away jumper. 87-85. Now this is were the Refs got bad.

LaMarcus Aldridge was hit hard by Pau Gasol and missed a lay-up. The Refs killed us. Then Bryant hits a garbage shot right of the backboard then bounces around a couple times. Tied 87.

The Lakers ended up winning in OT. 106-101. But, hey, Blazer fans have nothing to hand your head about. Still a lot of games to play. GO BLAZERS!

Brandon Roy to return to Blazers lineup tonight!!!

By HD

Portland Trail Blazers All-star guard, Brandon Roy, will return to the Trail Blazers lineup tonight vs. The Los Angeles Lakers in a huge Rivalry game.

Roy has been hurt for a while now. He under went surgery a couple weeks ago on both of his knees. The guard really hasent been healthy, but tonight, he is feeling better.

Tonight game, vs. The Lakers will be a huge game for the fact that the Lakers never win in Portland, and that this is a rivalry.

Brandon Roy is expected to start on the Bench tonight. And I agree. Wesley Matthews has been playing pretty good latley, so start Wes and let Roy come in at the first timeout.

Look for a great game tonight Blazer fans. GO BLAZERS!!!!

NBA TRADE RUMORS: Joel Przybilla for Gearld Wallace?

By HD.

Another Trade Rumor is going around the NBA. This time including Joel Przybilla, the Portland Trail Blazers Center. Joel would be traded for PF Gerald Wallace of the Charlotte Bobcats.

Gerald Wallace, has had a pretty smooth and quiet career, not doing much, but Joel Przybilla is not the old Joel.

Let me tell you a story. Joel Przybilla used to be young and fresh, until one game last year vs. Dallas when he got hurt, since he came back Joel hasent been his best.

I think the Blazers will have a Win-Win in this trade. If you keep Przybilla, you have a good talented Center who has some problems, and a good player. Really doesnt argue or complain. Now with Gerald Wallace you have a great smooth player, alot like LaMarcus Aldridge, can go to the Basket and shoot, but, he's one of those guys that argues and complains.

The Blazers will at least get something pretty good from this trade. Charlotte is even throwing in a first-round draft pick, so LOSE BOBCATS LOSE!

Volquez to start on Opening Day for the Reds.

By HD

Manager Dusty Baker of the Cincinnati Reds announced that RP Edinson Volquez will start on Opening Day vs. the Brewers on 3-31-11.

A much suprise to the queen city as Volquez gets the start over Bronson Arroyo and Johnny Cueto. Volquez went 4-3 with a 4.31 ERA over 12 starts during 2010. His last full season was 2008, his first in Cincinnati, when he won 17 games and became an All-Star for the first time.

Edinson got the start in the first playoff game last season, and probably a game Philly fans remember as Roy Halladay No hit the Reds, 4-0.

Volquez came back in the middle of last season after a sucsessful Tommy John surgery. He really still hasent been the same since the 17 win season.

"I thought Cueto might be it, or Bronson for No. 1," Volquez said. "They're giving me the opportunity to be No. 1 and I'm excited. It's an honor. ... It surprised me when they told me. Those two guys just signed big contracts. I signed for one year. Pitching the first day is unbelievable."

"I feel 100 percent right now," Volquez said. "I don't feel anything in my arm. I've been throwing a lot. Before I came here, I threw five [bullpen sessions], one live BP and two innings. I've already got three [bullpen sessions] down here."

And we will see Edinson on Opening Day, 3-31-11.

Beaver Baseball team beats Gonzaga in 1st game of Double Header.

By HD

The Oregon state beavers baseball team has won again, beating the Gonzaga Bulldogs again in the 1st game of a double header. The 2nd game will be vs. Fresno State. Anyways the Beavs won 4-2 here's what happened....

The Beavs jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead on a Tyler Smith RBI groundout to score Brian Stamps. Gonzaga starter, Tyler Olsen did not impress today.

But Gonzaga would get on the board with a single by Royce Bollinger, but Edman for the Zags would be thrown out at home 1-1.

The Beavers would retake the lead in the 3rd with a single by Acosta. But Oregon state's catcher Andrew Suscac would be thrown out at home.

Today, Pitcher Ben Wetzler went 4.2 innings in his First ever start.

The Beavers would score in the 4th and 5th with a Sac fly in the 4th by Garrett Nash to score Jake Rodriguez. In the 5th, Andrew Suscac would score on a wild pitch by reliver Aaron Brooks.

The Beavers went on to win 4-2. Big win of the first game of a double header. Tonight, the Beavs will play Fresno State at 6:05 PT 9:05 ET. A lot of people will be watching the All-star game probley, but I say no. Watch this!

NBA TRADE RUMORS: Marcus Camby out of Portland?

By HD

The Portland Trail Blazers have been playing terrific the last 2 weeks. Closing in on 5th place in the West, 2nd in the Northwest, but their is just one slight problem.

There is a Rumor going around the NBA that Portland Trail Blazers center, Marcus Camby could be traded before the Trade deadline.
Camby has had 5.9 PPG, 11.3 RBG, 1.8 BLKPG and was a huge part of Portland's playoff run last year but just short losing in the 6th game of the opening Western playoff round.

Well, right now,Marcus Camby is battling an injury. He has been through surgery this season, and the Blazers losing a big man. Well, that happens all the time, the Blazers lost Greg Oden to a Season ending injury this year, and Marcus Camby has been injured for an awfully long time.

The Blazers biggest man next to Camby would be Joel Przybilla, but he isnt even starting. I like who is starting at Center right now and thats Dante Cunningham. He's a great athlete, and if you leave him open on a rebound he is going to get it.

Some teams probley interested in Camby would be teams that need big men. The Blazers are the team that MOST need a big men and Marcus Camby needs to stay. Oklahoma City could use a big men even Utah or Golden State.

I see sending Marcus Camby to the Thunder is a Dangerous Idea. Oklahoma City already has the shooting and getting a good big man could help them easily win the Northwest and go very deep in the playoffs.

The Main idea here is that Marcus Camby needs to stay with Portland. I think fans love him, he's a much needed big man, but ever since he left, the Blazers have been playing pretty tough. I would love to see him come back and help the Blazers possible win the Northwest and even get into 4th in the west.

So I guess I should end this Post Now. Hopefully, the Blazers will keep Camby and win the Northwest! GO BLAZERS!

Beaver Baseball Team gets opening day win.

By Hunter Hendrickson

You all probley think I just follow Reds baseball, (which is my Favorite team), but I follow the Oregon state Beavers baseball also. And yesterday, they got a huge opening day win over Gonzaga. Here's what happened.....

Sam Gaviglio started opening day for the beavers, struck out five over 6 2/3 innings, but not did not get the decision when Gonzaga tied the game at three on a passed ball in the eighth inning. The righty threw 92 pitches, 66 of which went for strikes, and his only free pass of the game came against his last batter when he hit Eric Lane with a pitch.

That wasent the hero of the day, however Tyler Smith was. Hitting a 3-2 pitch from Gonzaga reliever Mark Phillips and lined it right in front of Tyler Chism in left, bringing in Brian Stamps for his third run of the game and the Beavers’ first victory of the 2011 season.

Sam Gaviglio allowed runners to reach second and third in the first inning; he did not allow a runner to get past second the rest of the game.

He was relieved by left-hander Matt Boyd in the seventh, nearly two full innings after the Beavers took their 3-2 lead. Garrett Nash singled to start the inning, and moved to second when Stamps singled on a bunt. The two moved up a base after Susac posted a sacrifice bunt, and Nash scored to make it a 2-2 game when Parker Berberet flew out to left on a sac fly.

Bell, the next batter, got the count to 1-1 before he singled hard through the left side, driving in Stamps and giving the Beavers their first lead of the season.

Susac drove in the Beavers’ first run of the season in the third. He lined a sharp two-strike single through the left side off Gonzaga starter Ryan Carpenter, getting Stamps in from second.

So the Beavers win their 2011 Opening game.GO BEAVS!

Another Horrible Loss for Beavers.

Jay-R Stowbridge scored a career-high 26 points and streaking Oregon hit a season-best 13 3-pointers to defeat Oregon State 82-63 Saturday and continue its ascent up the Pac-10 Conference standings.

Joevan Catron and E.J. Singler added 13 points apiece for Oregon (14-12, 7-7 Pac-10), which opened the season 0-4 in conference play. The Ducks have won seven of their last 10 games and are now in fourth place, behind No. 12 Arizona, UCLA and Washington.

Lathan Wallace had 17 points off the bench for the Beavers (9-16, 4-10), who have lost four straight games.

Strowbridge, who hit a career-high six 3-pointers on nine attempts, sparked a second-half run that put the game out of reach.

After Oregon State pulled within 48-39 at the 14:06 mark, Strowbridge hit 3-pointers on three straight Oregon possessions to spark a run of six straight 3s by the Ducks that put them up 66-46 with 8:46 to play.

Oregon state looks for HUGE win in Civil war vs. Oregon.

By Hunter Hendrickson

The Oregon state beavers Basketball team has been struggling latley, their last win was over Washington, since then, the Beavs have lost 3 straight games. Tommrow, they will face the Oregon Ducks in the Civil war.

The Game will be played at the new Matt Court, which is known has the most UGLY court in all of College Basketball, and I got to say, I agree.

The best face-off tommrow will be who for the Beavs will have to guard Oregon Center, Joevan Catron. It will probley be Devon Collier vs. Catron. Great Matchup.

So the Beavers will need some Scoring tommrow if they really want to win. I say the Leading scorer will have to be Ahmad Starks. He's a Great shooter from the Outside, and he's to small to go to the Basket, so let him shoot from the Outside alot. He can make alot of them.

We will need to Play Defense on Joevan Catron is the Most important part. We have to guard him and make him throw up wild shots and lose the ball. Devon Collier and Joe Burton will have to box out and fight for the rebound.

Jared Cunningham is a supreme Defender. Leads the Pac-10 in steals and Helps Oregon state lead the Nation in steals. Tommrow, to not let Oregon get easy baskets is Cunningham to keep up the great defending.

So I guess I should end this here. Wish the Beavers luck tommrow. They will need it. GO BEAVS!

Trail Blazers get 6th straight win, head into All-star break in 5th place.

By Hunter Hendrickson

Finnaly, With everything that has happen to the Blazers this year, this finally, right before the All-star break, win 6 straight games and climb into 5th in the West.

The Blazers beat the Hornets, 103-96 behind LaMarucus Aldridge's 34 points.

The Blazers won have anybody heading to Los Angeles for the All-star game, but fourntely, we dont need all-stars. We have all the talent we need to go far into the Playoffs this year.

Brandon Roy and center Marcus Camby says they should be back by next week on wendsday when the Blazers face The Los Angeles Lakers at the Rose Garden.

Well, the Blazers are 32-24 and 5th in the west, and 2nd in the Northwest. 2 weeks ago, if I said that the Blazers would be 5th in the west at the all-star break, you would be thinking im Crazy. But with all that has happen to this Injured Team, we find a way to seek Greatness.

Trail Blazers Climb into a tie in 6th place in the west, 2nd in Northwest.

By Hunter Hendrickson

Today, was a good day.

The Portland Trail Blazers how have been in the 8th spot of the West for 2 months, finally climbs out of the 8th spot and the 4 spot in the Northwest.

So, off to the game. The Blazers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves, 95-81 on Monday. Dante Cunningham had 18 points and 13 Rebounds.

Oklahoma City leads the Northwest with a Record of 34-19. The Blazers are just 4 games out of The Thunder. Tonight, the Houston Rockets beat the Denver Nuggets, who the Blazers past who are now 8th in the West and 4th in the Northwest.

Oakland Raiders Back-up RB Micheal Bush Arrested for DUI.

By Hunter Hendrickson

Raiders Back up RB Michael Bush was arrested Saturday for Drunk driving in South Indiana, according to Louisville Courier-Journal.

Bush, 26, was pulled over for a traffic violation in Jeffersonville, Ind., at 3:47 a.m., and Clark County police Maj. Chuck Adams told the Courier-Journal that Bush was booked into the Clark County jail and released on his own recognizance at 1 p.m.

Raiders senior executive John Herrera declined to comment.

Bush rushed for a career-high 655 yards on 158 carries, scored eight touchdowns, and teamed with Darren McFadden to help give the Raiders the NFL's second-ranked running game this past season.

Pending a collective bargaining agreement, Bush is scheduled for free agency this offseason. The Raiders drafted him in the 4th round of the 2007 Draft.

Beavers lose on the road again, 69-61.

Malcolm Lee scored 19 points before fouling out and UCLA defeated Oregon State 69-61 Saturday, extending the Bruins' winning streak against the Beavers to 13 games.

Josh Smith added 15 points for UCLA (18-7, 9-3 Pac-10), which won its fifth in a row and ninth in 10 games.

Of course, it helped that the Bruins were playing the Beavers, who haven't beaten them since the 2005 Pac-10 tournament, making UCLA's domination the longest active streak by a league team against another.

Oregon State (9-15, 4-9) was led by Jared Cunningham with 14 points, and Devon Collier and Roberto Nelson had 10 each. The young Beavers -- who started one senior, two sophomores and two freshmen -- have lost three in a row and nine of 11. Third-year coach Craig Robinson has beaten every other Pac-10 team, but he's 0-6 against the Bruins.

Prediction for OSU Baseball.

By Hunter Hendrickson

I know a lot of you just think I follow the Reds in baseball, but I also follow the Oregon State Baseball team. They have won 2 NCAA Championship's (2006, 2007). Here's my Prediction for their 2011 season.

The Oregon State baseball team is working out on a daily basis at Goss Stadium, getting ready for the start of the season that is now approximately 10 days away. OSU opens its 2011 campaign Feb. 19 against Gonzaga, in Fresno, Calif.

Today, we will look at the team in general, and the schedule the club will face in 2011. We will let head coach Pat Casey do most of the talking, in an archive of the team's media day available below. It has 24 minutes of great information about how he feels the team will stack up and what he feels it will take to be successful.

The club is returning 14 letterwinners from a year ago, including six position starters. Matt Boyd, who was a freshman All-America in 2010, returns for his sophomore campaign, as does Andrew Susac, who was a Pacific-10 Conference Honorable Mention selection.

The team has five returning seniors, all of whom had big roles in 2010 and expect to do the same in 2011. Jared Norris manned right field and first base last season, while Michael Miller returns for his fourth season in the outfield. Dylan Jones is back to doing double duty at first base and on the mound, while Parker Berberet brings back his valuable bat to play behind the plate, at first, and really, anywhere the Beavers need him. Last, but certainly not least, the team's fifth senior is right-hander James Nygren, who like Miller, will be in Corvallis for his fourth season and who expects to anchor the team's relievers.

All told, the club has many key pieces that will make the club successful in 2011.

Did you know 10 Oregon State players on the 2011 roster have already been selected by MLB clubs but decided they wanted to become Beavers? That's true. They are: Carter Bell, Tony Bryant, Dan Child, Adam Duke, Sam Gaviglio, Garrett Nash (twice), Jordan Poyer, Jake Rodriguz, Susac and Ben Wetzler. Four of the 10 - Child, Duke, Rodriguez and Wetzler - had the opportunity this past summer to sign but elected to come to Corvallis.

Now that is saying something.

That group, and all of the Beavers on the 2011 roster, will be tasked with playing a tough schedule this season. With eight Pac-10 teams making the tournament in 2010, it means the Beavers will be playing a former NCAA Tournament team just about every league weekend this year.

The Beavers also put together an outstanding non-conference schedule that will take them to Fresno, Corpus Christi, Texas, San Antonio and Long Beach, Calif. They'll play the 2008 national champion Fresno State Bulldogs in the opening weekend of the season, then the next week, will head to Corpus Christi to square off with 2010 NCAA Tournament club Connecticut, along with Indiana, among others.

Oregon State opens its 2011 home slate March 4 against Hartford in the start of a four-game series and one that will see the Beavers play an eight-game homestand.

The trip to Long Beach will see OSU play the vaunted "Dirtbags" of LBSU for a three-game series before OSU takes on UC Santa Barbara the following weekend at Goss Stadium. The club, all told, will play 28 home games in 2011.

Arizona awaits Oregon State on April 1 in Tucson in what amounts to the Pac-10 opener for both clubs. OSU will see Arizona State, Washington State, California and USC at Goss this season for conference series. The Beavers will also get Oregon twice - March 8 and May 3 - in two non-conference games.

Here's my Pac-12 Prediction

1. #5 UCLA

2. #14 Stanford

3. #21 Arizona State

4. #23 Oregon

5. #25 Oregon state

6. Washington State

7. Arizona

8. Washington

9. Califorina

10. USC

Portland Trail Blazers SG Brandon Roy Practices, Return unknown.

By Hunter Hendrickson

Guard Brandon Roy has returned to practice with the Portland Trail Blazers but he won't return to the lineup this weekend as he had hoped.

The three-time All-Star, who had arthroscopic surgery on both knees a little more than three weeks ago, worked out for about a half hour with his teammates on Wednesday. He said afterward that he did not have any pain.

Blazers coach Nate McMillan says Roy will be eased back into the rotation and his minutes will be closely watched. There is no timetable for Roy to start playing again.

Blazers center Marcus Camby, who also had arthroscopic surgery last month, also returned to practice. He too was limited to 30 minutes.

Camby was averaging 5.9 points and 11.3 rebounds in 39 games this season.

The return of Roy and Camby was encouraging for the Blazers, who have been dogged by injuries for the second straight season.

In November, the team announced that center Greg Oden, the No. 1 draft pick in 2007, would miss the season because of microfracture surgery on his left knee. Oden missed his rookie year because of microfracture surgery on his right knee.

Second-year forward Jeff Pendergraph injured his knee in the preseason and required season-ending surgery. And rookie guard Elliot Williams has undergone surgery this season on both knees.

Last season, Roy had arthroscopic surgery to repair the meniscus in his right knee two days before the Blazers opened their first-round playoff series against Phoenix.

He made a remarkable comeback and played in the fourth game of the series, which the Suns eventually won, but some have suggested he might have returned too soon.

Roy said he accepts McMillan's caution.

"I feel good but at the same time I understand where he's coming from," Roy said. "He wants me to feel great."

When will the Raiders be in the Super Bowl again?

By Hunter Hendrickson

So, today is the Biggest day almost ever in sports, Super Bowl 45. Its between the Packers and the Steelers. But, I am wondering, when will the Raiders be back into the Super Bowl? Well My Prediction is in a Long long time. Here's why....

Al Davis is the reason. He is old and does not make very SMART descion making. He been with the Raiders almost since they have been a franchise.

The Raiders need a QB. The Last time we had a Great QB was Rich Gannon. Gannon left after the Raiders lost in the 2002 Super Bowl to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The QB we have now is Jason Campbell. Campbell was part of the reason the Raiders had a 8-8 year but mostly it was the Rushing game. The Raiders need to Draft a QB in the Draft. I would love Cam Newton, or Terrell Pryor, or even Ryan Mallet.

The Rushing game for the Raiders is Just fine. We have Darren Mcfadden, Michael Bush and Marcell Reece had Break-out years. Drafting a RB would be a Waste in the Draft. And our WR crew could need Improvement. Such as Louis Murphy and Darius-Heyward bay arent very good. But the Raiders have a Great young WR named Jacoby Ford. He has speed and can catch. He is like Desean Jackson or Devin Hester.

Another key is Hue Jackson. He was a huge reason the Raiders went 8-8 last year. He was the Offensive Cordinator and in this Offseason, ex-Head Coach Tom Cable was fired, and the raiders promoted Hue Jackson to head Coach. My Thoughts is that Jackson wont be that great. He more Offensive.

Defense Wins championships. The Old saying is still new. The Raiders have almost all they need on Defense Like Nnadmi Asmougha, Richard Seymour and Rolando Mcclain. If I were the Raiders I would draft a CB in the draft like Brandon Harris from Miami (FL).

Special Teams Is the Raiders best spot on this team. Returner Jacoby Ford and in my opinion the best punter and Kicker in the NFL, Shane Lechler and Sebastion Janikowski.

So Now you see what the Oakland Raiders need into Improve on to be Real Contenders.

Beavers Fall to Cougars, 61-55.

Omari Johnson for the Beavers tangles with Washington state's Deangelo Casto.

CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Reggie Moore had 14 points and DeAngelo Casto added 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead Washington State to a 61-55 win against Oregon State Saturday night.

The Cougars (16-7, 6-5 Pac-10) overcame an off-night from leading scorer Klay Thompson, who had six points on 2-of-7 shooting and fouled out with 1:57 left.

Devon Collier had a career-high 16 points and 10 rebounds for Oregon State (9-13, 4-7), which led only once, at 11-10.

The Beavers cut a 10-point second-half deficit to two, but Washington State steadily built its edge back to 10, going ahead 41-31 on Casto's three-point play with 12:49 left.

Collier's lay-in got Oregon State within 45-41 before Moore and Marcus Caspers each had three-point plays to increase the Cougars' margin again.

Oregon State got within 57-55 with 20 seconds left on Roberto Nelson's basket, but Faisal Adian made four free throws to close the scoring.

Trail Blazers back into 8th!

By Hunter Hendrickson

A Huge win tonight Over the Cavaliers put the Blazers in the 8th seed in the West.

The Blazers SG Wesley Matthews had 31 points in a 111-105 win Causing the Cleveland Lebron less- Cavaliers, their 24th STARIGHT loss.

Lamarcus Aldride added 20 points for the Blazers who were on a 2 game losing streak going into tonight.

The Grizzlies lost to the Rockets, 95-93 in OT to fall into 9th.

The Trail Blazers are 27-24 and the Grizz are 27-25. The Grizzlies are right there. Its not even the All-star break yet!

HD's Keys to keeping 8th: Wesley Matthews needs to shoot more. The Blazers can't have Lamarcus Having 30 points a game or hes gonna get tired.
HD's Keys to keeping 8th 2: Bench Andre Miller. I know the fight between Him and Brandon Roy earlyer this year was Roy's fault, but Andre Miller is old and slow.

HD's keys to keeping 8th 3: Win games. End of story.

So Hopefully The Blazers can keep that 8th spot and keep on winning!
