Joey votto, the first baseman for the Cincinnati reds, was named 2010 NL MVP In a landslide over Albert Puhols, Carlos Gonzalez, Adrian Gonzalez, Troy Tulowitzski, and Roy Halladay.

All I can say is wow. A guy who nobody knew 2 years ago and comes up to the Big Leauge and makes a name for himself.

Votto finsished with a Total of443 points and a Total of 31 first place votes. In second was Pujols with 1 JUST 1 first place vote. Heres a list...

Joey Votto2010

Nice huh?

In 2009, Votto was nationally known primarily for being a player who spent a month on the disabled list to deal with depression and anxiety caused by difficulties with his emotions following the sudden 2008 death of his father, Joseph. Even after returning and posting strong numbers with a .322 average and 25 homers, it happened well out of the spotlight since Cincinnati was out of contention.

This year, no one could ignore what Votto did on the field. After being left off of the original NL All-Star team, he made the squad after more than 13 million fans added him to the roster via the online All-Star Final Vote. On Aug. 30, Votto became the first Reds player to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated since Ken Griffey Jr. in 2004.

By Hunter Hendrickson

A bad loss last week to washington st., The Oregon state Beavers Defense had a Horrible outing last week, but this week, it was different. Heres what happened....

The Oregon state beavers,(4-5, 3-3) were at home vs. confrence rivals The USC Trojans.(7-3,4-3) The Oregon state Beavers were playing to keep their bowl hopes alive as they were very slim. If the Beavers lost, they would have to beat #6 Stanford and #1 Oregon to make a bowl. They ROMPED the Trojans 36-7. Heres what happened.

With 30 seconds in the 1st quarter left Justin Kahut hit a 34 YD FG to put the Beavers up 3-0. The Beavers never trailed again.

In the very first play entering the 2nd quarter, Matt Barkley threw a pick 6 to Jordan Poyer for 65 yards and the Beavers led 10-0 just after a FG.

With 7:06 left in the half Jaquizz Rodgers took it 3 Yards to put the Beavers up 17-0 and a Flashback kind of game like in 2008 when the Beavers upset the #1 Trojans.

On the next drive, Matt Barkley got his legs tangled and never returned to the game.

Beavers got a Field goal and led 20-0 at the half and the half was named, "The Oregon states best Defensive half of the YEAR!"

Beavers scored first in the 2nd half with 6:31 left in the quarter to take a 23-0 Romping over USC.

Is Janish ready to Start at Shortstop? Is Chapman up for a Starting Job?

By Hunter Hendrickson

This Offseason, The Reds Released Starting Shortstop Orlando Cabrera and Starting Pitcher Aaron Harang leaving Backup Shortstop Paul Janish and Relive Pitcher Arlodis Chapman in starting Jobs.

Last season, Paul Janish was Starting when cabrera had a Hip Injury and he was ready he took his chance and Played really well Hitting .260 with 5 Homers and 25 RBIs.

While Paul was batting that well. Reliver Arolidis Chapman was Throwing over 100 MPH almost every pitch his fastest pitch was marked at 105 last year making it the FASTEST PITCH IN MLB HISTORY! But, is he up for a Starting job.

I say Paul Janish is ready. The Kid is young and has a Bright future with the Reds and possibley more teams. The former Rice player has been Wonderful and Down at times in his Young MLB career. I say dont Re-sign Cabrera and give this Kid a Chance Trust me, hes good.

Now, Arloidis Chapman was off and on in his Rookie season last year Gave up a Lot of hits and if I see him Starting he might be a 15 win guy I say 16-10 like Bronson Arroyo was last season so thats what I see from him.

Thats my Update on the Reds Offseason thanks for Reading GO REDS!

Injuries force Brandon Roy to Limit self

By Hunter Hendrickson

Portland Trail Blazers Guard Brandon Roy Said Tuesday that he will have to reduce his playing time, the result of several injuries, The Oregonian reported.

Roy has averaged 20.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and three assists a night while averaging almost 39 minutes a game this season for the Blazers (5-3).

Roy

In April, Roy underwent surgery on his right knee, but was able to play eight days later in the playoffs against the Phoenix Suns.

"Does it concern me? Yeah," Roy told The Oregonian following Tuesday's shootaround. "I would love to play more minutes and have a much better body, but it's just not the case, so I have to try and make the most of what it is. I had a phone call yesterday and in talking to a few people, it is somewhat of a reality check. This is what it is, and now you have to make the most of it."

Coach Nate McMillan told The Oregonian he will try to limit Roy's minutes, but noted that an injury to forward Rudy Fernandez led to increased time for Roy.

Roy said the past week was especially tough on him because the Blazers played five games in seven nights, including three on the road.

"I have to try and preserve as much as I can," Roy told the Oregonian. "The biggest thing is if we can limit the minutes, I can be more explosive instead of trying to run along for 40 minutes. That's maybe just too much time."

Roy said his surgically repaired right knee may not be bothering him, but it's also not in top shape.

"The knee is kind of what it is," Roy told the newspaper. "I've been doing things off the court to strengthen it and I continue to work with [trainer] Jay [Jensen] and those guys, and we are still trying to figure out an answer for it."

"I hope it will get better if the minutes go down,'' Roy said. "That's the plan: Get the minutes down, hopefully be more explosive, and everything works out."
